We are often so preoccupied with everyday tasks and chores that we allow our life to be in charge of us, not the other way around, like its supposed to be. When you allow the autopilot to take over, the journey suddenly doesn’t seem that entertaining anymore, quite the opposite every day seems to be a minute longer, the number of things that amuse you is constantly decreasing and, somehow, all you do is wait for the day to be over, so that you can go to bed and allow your subconscious self to take over.

A life like this is not a life at all. If this is how you feel every day, then you need to understand that you’re barely alive and that you’re definitely not happy. Wasting your precious seconds on different pastimes will only make you sink deeper into monotony, which will obviously make it even harder to get out. First of all, you need to realize that you’re unhappy.

Are You Constantly Burdened With Negativity?

When was the last time you had a day filled with joy? Are you constantly trying to figure out ways to avoid interacting with people around you? When was the last time you did something nice for yourself? Trying to push through those eight work hours without anything significant happening, so you can go home and pay your bills at the end of each month isn’t what life is about. You’re obviously trying to consume all the negativity around you, and then retreat emotionally and physically into your shell. However, the walls you build around you wont protect you they will only make you feel more isolated and lonely.

Do You Feel like Your Life is Falling Apart?

Losing control usually causes people to panic. If you feel like your hands are tied, and that you have no effect on the things happening in your life, you should know that your consciousness is narrowed. You may have been under this fog for a while now, without even realizing it, which is probably why you’re acting extremely passive. That state of numbness is preventing you from gaining control over your own life, which is why you feel so helpless. Breathe in. Breathe out. You are worthy. You deserve to be happy everyone does. Let the whole world pass you by for a second, and focus on your inner self. This unnatural pace modern society forced upon us requires us to always push and push further, until we ran out of energy and until our spirit wears down. Its absolutely necessary for you to do everything in your power to prevent an inevitable breakdown, so slow down and try to hear your inner rhythm. Perhaps those standards you’re trying to live up to aren’t your own. Perhaps its not a bad thing that you stand out. You are unique, and you should build your life around your own dreams, desires and life goals.

Reconsider Your Choices

Are you happy with your career? Is your relationship still fulfilling? What comes to your mind the moment you wake up? Are those thoughts related to problems or something negative that bothers you?

This change of pace we just mentioned is a great opportunity for an evaluation. No matter how old you are, where you live or what you do, you can and should do this. Most people always consider themselves too old, too preoccupied or tired to change. However, if you have gotten to where you are in life by making all the wrong choices, not doing anything about it will ensure that everything stays exactly the same. Is that what you really want?
